Spring 2013
During the Spring I was lucky enough to acquire a wonderful burr Robinia tree from a private garden in Bookham. The tree had to be felled because it became dangerous. Items are now available on the web site and also at several of my shop outlets and are proving very popular especially at Dansel Gallery, Abbotsbury.
I also have some good quality Yew which came from Boxhill. Petworth House and Wisley. Unusually this wood is largely free of the many types of fault found in yew. I was therefore able to make some very attractive thin (5mm) natural edge items which will shortly be on the web site but can be obtained from Chartwell shop and Petworth House National Trust shops.
Recent wood acquisition include a splendid large sycamore tree from Nonsuch Park Surrey and also a beautiful piece of cherry tree which is faultless and will make lovely natural edged bowls. These will not be available for two or three months.
